Ali's here at last

AFTER a difficult opening two weeks with sub-professionals and terrible weather, professional Ali Azmat has arrived from Pakistan - and brought the sunshine with him.

He opened up with a solid bowling performance and 30 runs with the bat as the first team came close to upsetting Settle, one of the early favourites for the league title.

David Watson had left to play at Horwich in the Bolton League and his place as wicket keeper has been taken by 14-year-old Ryan Sumner who has shown tremendous early promise.

The second and third teams have new captains in Jef Tipler and Michael 'Tanker' Rawson.
